Medela Pump In Style Advanced – On-the-go Tote Breast Pump Review : Medela is a well known brand. Every mother already heard the name at least one. My girlfriend used a Medela breast pump while in hospital when our first daughter was born and she loved it. However, we never bought one for home because of the price. Instead, she chosen a manual breast pump, she got used to it and she never thought about buying an electric breast pump. Last month, we received a Medela Pump In Style Advanced – On-the-go Tote Breast Pump to try and my girlfriend was pleased to give it a test run.

Pump In Style Advanced is a daily use breastpump designed for moms who pump several times a day and it’s easy to use. There’s no complicated controls and you don’t even have to read the instruction manual to figure out how to use it. Only an adjustable speed/vacuum dial lets you start/stop the pump and choose the most comfortable setting. The double pumping kit is also very easy to assemble/disassemble and also very easy to wash.

The Pump In Style Advanced comes in a PVC-free microfiber tote with built-in pump and extra storage for your pump accessories. The fact that the pump is built-in the tote is genius ! Everything fit in the tote and can stay in it while pumping and it makes it very easy to carry everything, everywhere.

The Pump In Style Advanced features a 2-Phase Expression technology that helps produce more milk in less time. The Stimulation Phase stimulate milk flow while the Expression Phase bring out more milk faster.

My girlfriend pumps every 4 hours or so and she also have to take care of our 3 daughters during the day so she needs to pump often, fast and easily. As I said, she used to use her manual pump because it was fast and easy to clean but it turned out that the Pump In Style Advanced is faster and as easy to clean as her manual breast pump !

Of course, this pump is expensive at $299.99. On the other hand, you’re not buying yet another electric breastpump, you’ll be buying a quality electric breastpump. The kind of breastpump that will last for years !  If you consider buying it for your first baby, that’s a great investment if you also consider to have other babies in the future. If you don’t consider to have other babies, that’s still a good investment because the pump will help you spend more time with your baby then your breastpump.

I’m talking about a removable PVC-free cooler bag with contoured ice pack that keeps milk cool for up to 12 hours, a battery pack that lets you pump anywhere, 4 – 5 oz BPA-free breastmilk bottles with lids, one wide base nipple and travel cap not to mention the stylish microfiber tote with built-in bottle holders and tubing storage pocket ! A 9V vehicle lighter adapter is advertised on the box but sold separately. That would have been a great bonus if it could have been included as well but can always use the battery pack to pump in the car if needed. Just make sure to bring some extra batteries !

The Medela Pump In Style Advanced – On-the-go Tote Breast Pump is like a luxury car, it’s expensive but it well worth it ! You’ll keep and use it for years and if you compare it to other electric pumps, you’ll see how better it is.

Pros:

+ Fast and easy pumping
+ A lot of extras included (stylish microfiber tote, cooler bag with ice pack, 4 – 5 oz BPA-free breastmilk bottles with lids, etc..)

Cons:
– Expensive (but you get quality!)
