Good Housekeeping Island Resort Sweepstakes

I am 75 years old and have been receiving Good Housekeeping Magazine since I was about 30 years old. I love this magazine but this is the first sweepstakes I have ever entered. My daughter and granddaughter went to the really poor section of Belize with their church group ten years ago. My granddaughter, Sarah, said that even though they were really poor they were the happiest people to be around.
The thing I like about this Sweepstakes is that it is pure luxury. Since I’m getting older, I decided that winning this trip is the only way I will ever have a chance to see such a beautiful place. Wish me luck!

Belize is a place I have always wanted to visit. It would be a perfect getaway for my daughter and myself to spend some quality time together as we live very far apart.

This would be a nice get away for me & my husband who has prostrate cancer ; us diabetic. He has just gotten out of hospital with pneumonia. Thanks for the chance to take him away for some fun time.

My husband and I are 79 years young. I have been reading and enjoying GH magazine for over 50 years and hope to continue doing so for many more years. We would love to win this trip.It would be a very special 61st wedding anniversary gift.

Generally not a contest person but this looks so good I just have to try it. A wonderful chance to visit the famous “Blue Hole” and experience another culture which has many customs that are different from home
but English is nevertheless spoken. Thanks for this chance for a great adventure!

I have subscribed to Good Housekeeping for years and when I saw this sweepstakes I tore out the page and put it by our computer to enter. This trip would be great trip to go on since it is one of the places on my Bucket List to see and would probably never be able to afford it otherwise.

2018 HAS BEEN ESPECIALLY DIFFICULT EMOTIONALLY FOR ME.
MY FATHER SUFFERED A ALTERED MENTAL STATUS, PLACING HIM THE HOSPITAL FOR 2 MONTHS THEN TRANSFERRED TO A PERMANENT NURSING FACILITY FOR SEVERE DEMENTIA WITH VIOLENT BEHAVIOR ISSUES. THE FAMILY HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO VISIT AS MUCH AS WE WOULD WANT BECAUSE OF HIS OUTBURSTS, IT IS NOT SAFE. EMOTIONALLY IT HAS JUST BEEN DEVASTATING. WE HAD TO SELL MY MOTHER’S HOME, A HEAVY MORTGAGE HAD TO BE PAID AND IT WAS DIFFICULT TO FIND HER AN AFFORDABLE APARTMENT. BUT 9 MONTHS LATER THRU A COLD, LONG WINTER…SPRING ARRIVED AND THEN SUMMER, WE FOUND A BEAUTIFUL APARTMENT NEAR BY MY HOME.
I HANDLE EVERYTHING FOR BOTH FINANCIAL AND PERSONAL MATTERS FOR MY PARENTS. IT IS MENTALLY DRAINING AND TAKES TIME AWAY FROM MY MANY OTHER DUTIES AT HOME, JOB, ETC.
IT IS A NEVER ENDING AND SOMETIMES DIFFICULT RESPONSIBILITY, ALONG WITH MY OWN HOME, JOB, ETC. MY HUSBAND AND I ARE DEVOTED TO OUR TWO GRANDCHILDREN AND DAUGHTERS. WE PROVIDE SO MUCH SUPPORT IN TAKING CHILDREN TO THEIR AFTER SCHOOL DUTIES, SPORTS, HAVE THEM BEFORE AND AFTER SOON SOMETIMES.
MY HUSBAND AND I ARE EMOTIONALLY DRAINED. WE SEEM TO BE DRIFTING APART FROM EACH OTHER.
WE SURE COULD USE A VACATION ALONE. WE ARE NEVER ALONE AND THIS WOULD GREATLY HELP US BOTH PUT OURSELVES FIRST AND GET BACK TO BEING JUST HUSBAND/WIFE FOR A WHILE.

If I were lucky enough to win this wonderful trip to Belize, it would be a surprise trip for my husband to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary which would be in June of 2020.

This would be a dream vacation, if I win. Hopefully, that will be the case. I could “spell bind” you with tragedies and deaths in my family, but I won’t. I have been to Belize as a stop on a cruise and would love to be able to stay for a minute!
